DIR TO – Description #
The DIR TO PAGE enables the pilot to proceed directly from the present position to a designated waypoint.
The designated waypoint may be line-selected from the primary flight plan, or manually entered via the scratchpad.
When the DIR TO function is activated, the present position becomes the FROM waypoint and is displayed as T-P (turn point) in the active flight plan.
For example to go direct to MLB LS 2L.

MCDU DIR – waypoint #
Direct To Page – Waypoint
When the DIRECT TO function is selected, the FMGC initiates a direct flight leg to the selected waypoint. A DIR TO waypoint may be selected from points in the flight plan or entered from the scratchpad.
DIR TO INSERT – To insert the MLB waypoint LS 6R.
DIR TO ERASE – To erase the direct to waypoint LS 6L.

Direct To Page – Waypoint Inserted #
When the DIRECT TO function is selected, the FMGC initiates a direct flight leg to the selected waypoint. A DIR TO waypoint may be selected from points in the flight plan or entered from the scratchpad.

Direct To Page – Direct To Erase #
The DIRECT TO function can be canceled prior to inserting by selecting the ERASE prompt.
| NOTE When a DIR TO waypoint has been entered, four options for the DIR TO function become active. Selecting one of the four options modifies the DIR TO functions with the option selected. The FMGC defaults to DIR TO with abeam waypoints. |
Direct To Page – Direct To #
Select this option to navigate direct to a waypoint without any waypoints in between present position and the DIR TO waypoint.
MCDU DIR – Abeam Points #
When selected, points are built on the new route which are perpendicular to the previous route’s waypoints.
The points are labeled as ABXXXXX.
MCDU DIR – Radial In #
A flight path is created from an extension of the DIR TO waypoint inbound on the course designated by the radial entered.
The FMGC will stay in heading until reaching the radial inbound navigation solution.
If no solution can be achieved, NO NAV INTERCEPT is displayed in the scratchpad.
MCDU DIR – Radial Out #
A flight path is created along the extension of a radial starting at the DIR TO waypoint outbound along the radial entered.
The FMGC will stay in heading until reaching the radial outbound navigation solution. If no solution can be achieved, NO NAV INTERCEPT is displayed in the scratchpad.
Direct To Insert #
Selecting insert will insert the DIRECT TO function with the selected options
