Approach Page Preflight #
Enter Destination Data #
ENTER DEST DATA message appears in amber on the scratchpad when within 180 NM of the destination and data is not entered.
PREV PHASE – Provides access to Descent page – LS 6L.
NEXT PHASE – Provides access to Go Around Page page – LS 6R.
QNH #
Displays pilot-entered QNH in either In/Hg or hPa at destination. Beyond 180 NM of the destination, brackets display. Within 180 NM, amber boxes appear.
Temperature #
Displays pilot-entered temperature at destination (entered in degrees C). Prior to pilot entry, brackets display. Used to refine the computation of the descent profile.
Mag Wind #
Allows pilots to enter steady-state magnetic winds (ATIS or ATC).
Trans FL #
Displays transition altitude based on the destination airport. Can be modified at any time.
Vapp #
Minimum speed the airplane will fly in the approach phase of flight if managed speed is active.
It is computed by the FMGC based upon predicted landing weight until approach phase activation. After approach phase activation, it is based on current weight.
VAPP appears in small font if computed by the FMGC. It appears in large font when modified by the pilot and will not change until modified or cleared by the pilot.
F, S, Clean Speeds #
Displays F speed, S speed, and green dot speed for the predicted landing weight.
VLS #
Computed by the FMGC for the predicted landing weight and the selected landing configuration (3 or FULL).
Cannot be modified by the pilots. VREF equals VLS for landing configuration FULL.
Approach Page Active #
Final #
Displays selected approach from the flight plan. Cannot be modified through this field.
NEXT PHASE – Provides access to Go Around Page page – LS 6R.
MDA #
Allows entry of barometric minimums by the pilot for all CAT I ILS/nonprecision approaches.
DH #
Allows entry of radio altitude minimums by the pilot for CAT II/III approaches.
LDG Config 3 #
Allows pilots to select the configuration that will determine the:
- Basis for VLS displayed on the PERF APPR page
- Flap setting at which the autoflight will slow to managed approach speed
Large font indicates the selected configuration. To change, select key adjacent to the small font, asterisked landing configuration.
